Sonsie

Sonsie is the music project of Niamh McCartney, a singer-songwriter from Cork, Ireland.  She returned to writing music during the pandemic as a means of navigating uncertainty and great personal loss.  An awakening at a Sharon Von Etten concert at the Cork Opera House compelled her to take her music out of her tiny studio and into the world. 

 

 

Project details

Sonsie's debut single ‘I Feel Alive’ was released in October 2023, and picked up by Nialler9, GoldenPlec and Hotpress, who state that "this track is raw, relatable and honest. A great first offering and insight into what's to come for the emerging artist”.  The new single ‘Home’ is out now.

She is working on material for a forthcoming EP, due to drop in Autumn 2024.
